Amplified Access is a network of public technologists working across East Africa to strengthen rights, inclusion, and civic participation

Our Approach
We partner with organizations to co-develop AI technologies that are rigorously researched and deeply rooted in local contexts. By ensuring these tools effectively address community needs, we reinforce rights, foster inclusion, and enhance civic participation. Through this approach, empowered communities can meaningfully influence decision-making and drive sustainable democratic transformation.

Across East Africa, the mismatch between global AI civic technologies and unique local challenges limits access, threatens safety, and reinforces exclusion
We prioritize community-led approaches, ensuring AI technologies are adapted with local voices at their center, so that these solutions are not just used, but truly useful
Where we work
We focus on projects in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, with technical and innovation support from our USA-based team. As we expand beyond East Africa, we are now exploring partnerships in South Asia, beginning with Pakistan.
